# Neon VPN vs VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Neon VPN at 4.6 against VPN's 3.0. Neon VPN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (20 vs 2). VPN's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neon VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. VPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

Neon VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Neon VPN has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Neon VPN ships an update monthly, VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
