# Smart vs Joeny Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Joeny Notes at 5.0 against Smart's 1.7. Joeny Notes also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Smart's advantage is ratings volume (136 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Joeny Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart has 136 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smart ships an update every 3 weeks, Joeny Notes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
