# Light & Shadow vs FinderKit

The clearest difference is rating: FinderKit at 4.9 against Light & Shadow's 4.0. FinderKit also leads on ratings volume (13 vs 1). Light & Shadow's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (100% vs 90%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FinderKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Light & Shadow asks for nothing beyond the download.

FinderKit holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FinderKit has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Light & Shadow's written reviews are positive against 90% of FinderKit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Light & Shadow ships an update monthly, FinderKit every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
