# SkyTimer vs AvNav

The clearest difference is rating: AvNav at 4.2 against SkyTimer's 4.0. SkyTimer's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 5) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SkyTimer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and AvNav sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $149.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AvNav holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 22 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of SkyTimer's written reviews are positive against 50% of AvNav's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SkyTimer ships an update fortnightly, AvNav every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
