# Flex Scanner vs Calc Ultra

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Calc Ultra at 100% against Flex Scanner's 33%. Calc Ultra also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). Flex Scanner's advantage is price (Free vs $9.99) and ratings volume (25 vs 4). On ads, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Flex Scanner is free to download; Calc Ultra costs $9.99 up front. Flex Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Calc Ultra sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calc Ultra holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flex Scanner has 25 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Flex Scanner's written reviews are positive against 100% of Calc Ultra's.

Flex Scanner ships an update every 9 days, Calc Ultra every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
