# Proloquo vs Hear Beyond

The clearest difference is rating: Proloquo at 4.0 against Hear Beyond's 3.4. Proloquo also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (148 vs 7). Hear Beyond's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proloquo sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Hear Beyond sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Proloquo holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proloquo has 148 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
