# Sailonline vs Flight Simulator 2d

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sailonline at none against Flight Simulator 2d's 16. Sailonline also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (75% vs 61%). Flight Simulator 2d's advantage is ratings volume (4.7K vs 7) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Simulator 2d sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Sailonline asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flight Simulator 2d holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flight Simulator 2d has 4.7K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Sailonline's written reviews are positive against 61% of Flight Simulator 2d's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sailonline ships an update every 11 days, Flight Simulator 2d every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
