# bartleby vs AI Answers

The clearest difference is monetization model: AI Answers at free with in-app purchases against bartleby's subscription. bartleby's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 177). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. bartleby sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and AI Answers sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for bartleby against 4.4 for AI Answers. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: bartleby has 2.5K ratings behind it against 177, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 24% of bartleby's written reviews are positive against 29% of AI Answers's.

bartleby ships an update monthly, AI Answers every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
