# bartleby vs Homework Helper

bartleby and Homework Helper both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Homework Helper's written reviews are positive against 24% of bartleby's. Homework Helper also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). bartleby's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 118). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. bartleby sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Homework Helper sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for bartleby against 4.3 for Homework Helper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: bartleby has 2.5K ratings behind it against 118, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 24% of bartleby's written reviews are positive against 83% of Homework Helper's.

bartleby ships an update monthly, Homework Helper every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
