# Toxx vs Diary Book

The clearest difference is rating: Diary Book at 4.6 against Toxx's 4.4. Diary Book also leads on ratings volume (314 vs 19). Toxx's advantage is review sentiment (88% vs 80%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Toxx sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Diary Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Diary Book holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary Book has 314 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Toxx's written reviews are positive against 80% of Diary Book's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Toxx ships an update every 2 months, Diary Book every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
