# LXCamera vs Security Home

The clearest difference is rating: LXCamera at 5.0 against Security Home's 4.3. LXCamera also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 months). Security Home's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. LXCamera asks for nothing beyond the download.

LXCamera holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LXCamera ships an update every 6 days, Security Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
