# Interval Timer vs Intervals

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Intervals at none against Interval Timer's 2. Intervals also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 17.0). Interval Timer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Intervals asks for nothing beyond the download.

Intervals holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 77 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Interval Timer ships an update every 2 days, Intervals every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
