# SchoolPass vs Vanguard Vikings

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Vanguard Vikings at 100% against SchoolPass's 20%. SchoolPass's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SchoolPass holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SchoolPass has 5K ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of SchoolPass's written reviews are positive against 100% of Vanguard Vikings's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SchoolPass ships an update monthly, Vanguard Vikings every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
