# Rentler vs Modwella

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Modwella at 80% against Rentler's 37%. Modwella also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). Rentler's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rentler holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rentler has 3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Rentler's written reviews are positive against 80% of Modwella's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rentler ships an update every 3 weeks, Modwella every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
