# Better Workout vs Interval Timer

The clearest difference is ads: Better Workout at none against Interval Timer's shown. Better Workout also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). Interval Timer's advantage is ratings volume (384 vs 25) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Better Workout sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Interval Timer sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.09 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 384 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Better Workout's written reviews are positive against 97% of Interval Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Better Workout ships an update every 6 days, Interval Timer monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
