# i2VPN vs VPN Expert

The clearest difference is review sentiment: i2VPN at 94% against VPN Expert's 0%. i2VPN also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 40 months). VPN Expert's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. i2VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and VPN Expert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

i2VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i2VPN has 3.6K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two.
