# i2VPN vs SecStream VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: SecStream VPN at free with in-app purchases against i2VPN's subscription. i2VPN's advantage is review sentiment (94% vs 60%) and ratings volume (3.6K vs 199). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. i2VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and SecStream VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for i2VPN against 4.7 for SecStream VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i2VPN has 3.6K ratings behind it against 199, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of i2VPN's written reviews are positive against 60% of SecStream VPN's.

i2VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, SecStream VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
