# 5 Second Rule vs StarStream

The clearest difference is update cadence: StarStream at every 4 weeks against 5 Second Rule's every 2 months. 5 Second Rule's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 5 Second Rule sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and StarStream sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

5 Second Rule ships an update every 2 months, StarStream every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
