# eChineseLearning vs 17Talki

The clearest difference is update cadence: 17Talki at every 5 days against eChineseLearning's fortnightly. 17Talki also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

eChineseLearning ships an update fortnightly, 17Talki every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on June 1, 2026 and September 12, 2026 respectively.
