# eChineseLearning vs Learn Chinese

The clearest difference is rating: Learn Chinese at 4.5 against eChineseLearning's 3.7. Learn Chinese also leads on ratings volume (50 vs 7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). eChineseLearning's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Chinese sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. eChineseLearning asks for nothing beyond the download.

Learn Chinese holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Chinese has 50 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of eChineseLearning's written reviews are positive against 0% of Learn Chinese's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

eChineseLearning ships an update fortnightly, Learn Chinese every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
