# BibleProject vs MessengerX App

The clearest difference is monetization model: BibleProject at free against MessengerX App's free with in-app purchases. BibleProject also leads on chart position (#74 vs unranked). MessengerX App's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (32K vs 2.8K). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BibleProject against 5.0 for MessengerX App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MessengerX App has 32K ratings behind it against 2.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of BibleProject's written reviews are positive against 98% of MessengerX App's.

BibleProject ships an update every 4 weeks, MessengerX App weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
