# Schol vs CellWalk

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Schol at none against CellWalk's 3. Schol also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 27.0). CellWalk's advantage is ratings volume (72 vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CellWalk sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Schol asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Schol against 4.9 for CellWalk. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CellWalk has 72 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Schol ships an update every 5 weeks, CellWalk every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
