# SmarTouch Digital vs Spearcast

The clearest difference is rating: Spearcast at 5.0 against SmarTouch Digital's 2.3. Spearcast also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months). SmarTouch Digital's advantage is ratings volume (36 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Spearcast holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmarTouch Digital has 36 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SmarTouch Digital ships an update every 7 months, Spearcast every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
