# StarEye vs KinetCam

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: KinetCam at none against StarEye's 18. StarEye's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (18 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarEye sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. KinetCam asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.0 for StarEye against 3.0 for KinetCam. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarEye has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 12% of StarEye's written reviews are positive against 10% of KinetCam's.

StarEye ships an update fortnightly, KinetCam every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
