# Dolphin tracker vs Smart Home

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Home at 4.2 against Dolphin tracker's 1.5. Smart Home also leads on ratings volume (283 vs 16). Dolphin tracker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (22% vs 7%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Home sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Dolphin tracker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smart Home holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Home has 283 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Dolphin tracker's written reviews are positive against 7% of Smart Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
