# Longform Reader vs The Intercept Reader

The clearest difference is rating: The Intercept Reader at 4.2 against Longform Reader's 3.8. The Intercept Reader also leads on ratings volume (18 vs 4). Longform Reader's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Intercept Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Longform Reader's written reviews are positive against 50% of The Intercept Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
