# Positive Intelligence vs Self

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Self at none against Positive Intelligence's 1. Self also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Positive Intelligence's advantage is ratings volume (176 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Positive Intelligence sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Self asks for nothing beyond the download.

Self holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Positive Intelligence has 176 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Positive Intelligence ships an update fortnightly, Self every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
