# HomeCooked Recipes vs ChefTalk

The clearest difference is update cadence: ChefTalk at every 6 days against HomeCooked Recipes's every 3 weeks. HomeCooked Recipes's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HomeCooked Recipes sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and ChefTalk sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for HomeCooked Recipes against 4.0 for ChefTalk. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HomeCooked Recipes has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HomeCooked Recipes ships an update every 3 weeks, ChefTalk every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
