# Speechability vs AAC&U Events

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AAC&U Events at none against Speechability's 3. AAC&U Events also leads on ratings volume (25 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 26.0). Speechability's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speechability sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. AAC&U Events asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speechability holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AAC&U Events has 25 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Speechability ships an update every 3 days, AAC&U Events every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
