# Bright Breaks vs Grata

The clearest difference is ads: Bright Breaks at none against Grata's shown. Bright Breaks also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 43%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Grata's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (416 vs 6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Bright Breaks against 4.3 for Grata. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grata has 416 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of Bright Breaks's written reviews are positive against 43% of Grata's.

Bright Breaks ships an update every 4 months, Grata every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
