# wallhaven vs Happy Patterns

The clearest difference is update cadence: Happy Patterns at every 10 days against wallhaven's every 4 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. wallhaven sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Happy Patterns sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

wallhaven ships an update every 4 months, Happy Patterns every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
