# Sparrow vs Ace Trace

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sparrow at free with in-app purchases against Ace Trace's subscription. Sparrow also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Ace Trace's advantage is review sentiment (51% vs 28%) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sparrow sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Ace Trace sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sparrow holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.6K and 2.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Sparrow's written reviews are positive against 51% of Ace Trace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
