# Sparrow vs CaddySmack

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CaddySmack at 100% against Sparrow's 28%. CaddySmack also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 18.0). Sparrow's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sparrow sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and CaddySmack sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CaddySmack holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sparrow has 3.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of Sparrow's written reviews are positive against 100% of CaddySmack's.

Sparrow ships an update every 2 weeks, CaddySmack every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
