# VentureTel SMS vs MessageDesk

The clearest difference is rating: VentureTel SMS at 5.0 against MessageDesk's 3.3. VentureTel SMS also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). MessageDesk's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VentureTel SMS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MessageDesk has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
