# Mustard vs Trace Baseball

The clearest difference is monetization model: Mustard at free with in-app purchases against Trace Baseball's subscription. Mustard also leads on ratings volume (201 vs 2). Trace Baseball's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mustard sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Trace Baseball sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trace Baseball holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mustard has 201 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mustard ships an update every 5 weeks, Trace Baseball every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
