# THERMS vs GuardHQ

The clearest difference is rating: GuardHQ at 5.0 against THERMS's 2.9. THERMS's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (39 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GuardHQ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: THERMS has 39 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

THERMS ships an update every 3 weeks, GuardHQ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
