# Video Director vs Magic Touch

The clearest difference is rating: Video Director at 5.0 against Magic Touch's 4.7. Magic Touch's advantage is ratings volume (91 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Director sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Magic Touch sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Director holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic Touch has 91 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Video Director's written reviews are positive against 90% of Magic Touch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Video Director ships an update every 6 weeks, Magic Touch every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
