# MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader vs PDF Unlock

The clearest difference is monetization model: MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader at free with in-app purchases against PDF Unlock's subscription. MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader also leads on ratings volume (7.6K vs 2) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). PDF Unlock's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and PDF Unlock sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader has 7.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader's written reviews are positive against 90% of PDF Unlock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MobiPDF・PDF Text Editor・Reader ships an update monthly, PDF Unlock every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
