# SCC ALERT vs Open

The clearest difference is rating: SCC ALERT at 5.0 against Open's 2.6. SCC ALERT also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Open's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 50 months) and ratings volume (84 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SCC ALERT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Open has 84 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SCC ALERT ships an update every 50 months, Open every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
