# Bamboo Running Late vs Runner

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Runner at 578 against Bamboo Running Late's 32. Bamboo Running Late's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bamboo Running Late sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and Runner sells 42 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Runner holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Runner has 578 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Bamboo Running Late's written reviews are positive against 94% of Runner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bamboo Running Late ships an update every 2 weeks, Runner weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
