# FlipType vs My Type!

The clearest difference is ads: FlipType at none against My Type!'s shown. FlipType also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 86%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). My Type!'s advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (65 vs 9). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Type! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Type! has 65 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of FlipType's written reviews are positive against 86% of My Type!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlipType ships an update every 3 weeks, My Type! fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
