# Wallpapers Central vs Backdrop

Wallpapers Central and Backdrop both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Backdrop's written reviews are positive against 55% of Wallpapers Central's. Backdrop also leads on ads (none vs shown). Wallpapers Central's advantage is ratings volume (4.4K vs 5). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wallpapers Central sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 3 months and Backdrop sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Wallpapers Central against 4.6 for Backdrop. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wallpapers Central has 4.4K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of Wallpapers Central's written reviews are positive against 100% of Backdrop's.

Wallpapers Central ships an update every 4 days, Backdrop every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
