# Shining Mask vs ASC

Shining Mask and ASC both sit at 3.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 45% of Shining Mask's written reviews are positive against 25% of ASC's. Shining Mask also leads on chart position (#188 vs unranked) and ratings volume (418 vs 56). ASC's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.2 for Shining Mask against 3.3 for ASC. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shining Mask has 418 ratings behind it against 56, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Shining Mask's written reviews are positive against 25% of ASC's.

Shining Mask ships an update every 5 weeks, ASC every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
