# SmileSet vs Braces Tracker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Braces Tracker at 100% against SmileSet's 38%. Braces Tracker also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). SmileSet's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Braces Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. SmileSet asks for nothing beyond the download.

Braces Tracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmileSet has 21K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of SmileSet's written reviews are positive against 100% of Braces Tracker's.

SmileSet ships an update weekly, Braces Tracker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
