# Workout Buddy vs Hero WOD

The clearest difference is rating: Hero WOD at 4.7 against Workout Buddy's 3.0. Hero WOD also leads on ratings volume (54 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.0). Workout Buddy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Workout Buddy sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Hero WOD sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
