# Rotec vs Handheld Contact Classic

The clearest difference is update cadence: Handheld Contact Classic at every 2 months against Rotec's every 20 months. Rotec's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rotec ships an update every 20 months, Handheld Contact Classic every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
