# Cross Border Xpress vs Volaris

Cross Border Xpress and Volaris both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 69% of Cross Border Xpress's written reviews are positive against 14% of Volaris's. Cross Border Xpress also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Volaris's advantage is ratings volume (16K vs 551) and chart position (#56 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Volaris holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Volaris has 16K ratings behind it against 551, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Cross Border Xpress's written reviews are positive against 14% of Volaris's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cross Border Xpress ships an update every 3 weeks, Volaris every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
