# Astrid Junior vs AI Language Tutor

The clearest difference is rating: AI Language Tutor at 4.5 against Astrid Junior's 3.9. AI Language Tutor also leads on ratings volume (63 vs 8). Astrid Junior's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Astrid Junior sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and AI Language Tutor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Language Tutor holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Language Tutor has 63 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Astrid Junior's written reviews are positive against 50% of AI Language Tutor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
