# Stix vs Biosom

The clearest difference is rating: Stix at 4.8 against Biosom's 1.0. Stix also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). Biosom's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (33% vs 11%). On price, monetization model, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Biosom sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Stix asks for nothing beyond the download.

Stix holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stix has 93 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of Stix's written reviews are positive against 33% of Biosom's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stix ships an update every 2 months, Biosom fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
