# NoteCircle vs App Lock

The clearest difference is rating: NoteCircle at 4.6 against App Lock's 1.0. NoteCircle also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteCircle sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and App Lock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteCircle holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteCircle has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NoteCircle ships an update every 3 days, App Lock every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
